Back to the main Quilters' Guild website

Welcome to Region 7

A warm welcome to Region 7

Angela Rodda

It is with the greatest sadness that I post this message on The Guild website. My fellow Coordinator Angela Rodda died on 24th February after a short but hard fought battle against cancer. We very much miss Angela in Region 7 but know that she will be sorely missed in the broader national quilting community too.  Many of you will have enjoyed Angela’s lovely company, sharp mind and incredible whirlwind energy. She was tremendous fun to work with and an absolute fund of ideas and schemes.  Her quilts (and there are so very many) were in the main traditional but she also produced exciting contemporary pieces too.

We are missing such a talented quilter, amazing teacher and loyal friend – and we treasure the memories of very happy times spent in her lovely company.

There will be a memorial service for her on Saturday 17 May in Buckinghamshire
accompanied by a small exhibition of some of her quilts.  We will post details of this event shortly.

Angela – we miss you very much.

The Quilters Guild is the premier organization for the advancement, support and dissemination of knowledge for quilting in the UK.  We hope that you will take advantage of the many benefits that come with membership and that you will be able to use the Region 7 as both a forum for the exchange of innovative ideas and as a resource for current developments over a wide range of quilting techniques.

You will also get substantial discounts on events, products and services from our your membership and our partner organizations. The full range of benefits can be found on the website.

While our events offer wonderful development opportunities via regional and nationally recognized speakers, you will also find through our membership, new friends, and a collective wealth of quilting knowledge.

It is our sincere wish that you enjoy the time you spend as a member of The Guild. Individual Committee members’ contact information is accessible on the website. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact any member of the Committee.  Our Committee are an important part of the organization and we encourage you to get involved to help make a difference.

Region 7 is organized to promote the best practice and our valued members set the very foundation by which this goal can be reached and we encourage you to become actively involved.  Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact our Committee.  We look forward to seeing you over the course of the year.
