Welcome to Region 7 of the Quilters’ Guild – the area
covering Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.
The region has approximately 400 members and nearly 50 separate quilting groups – many of whom are affiliated to the Guild – more details can be found here.
Membership within the region is very diverse and covers all the main areas of patchwork and quilting, so whether your passion is for traditional, contemporary, miniature, modern or art quilting you’ll find a warm welcome and a number of like-minded enthusiasts to connect with.
The committee comprises enthusiastic volunteers drawn from across the region and is currently concerned with ensuring we continue to meet the changing needs of members. As part of this, we will be using these web pages proactively to provide more information and news, and also hope to introduce an interim e-newsletter called ‘Loose Ends’ to supplement our established newsletter – Bits and Pieces – which is published in January, May and September.
Details of committee members may be found here.
Committee members work hard to provide 2 Regional and 2 Area days each year, at carefully chosen locations around the region. These events usually feature 2 well known speakers, a trader, show and tell opportunities, a raffle, delicious refreshments, and a sales table for members and visitors to recycle unwanted fabric, books, sewing equipment etc in aid of regional funds.
Advance booking for these events attracts a discount for members and non-members alike. Details of forthcoming events may be found here.
In addition, we hold a bi-annual, tutor led residential retreat offering a choice of workshops and lots of ‘me time’ in the company of fellow quilters. A few places are still available for this year’s retreat at beautiful Highgate House in the Northamptonshire countryside – further information available here.
Our Young Quilters rep organises a number of activities each year, and further details are available here.
Happy stitching – I look forward to seeing you at future Region 7 events.
