This event runs from 11:00am on the 1st May 2020, to 3:00pm on the 24th December 2020 and will take place at The Welsh Quilt Centre, Town Hall, High Street, Lampeter, Ceredigion, SA48 7BB. It is being organised by The Welsh Quilt Centre, .
‘The Magical Quilts of Wales’ will be a dazzling display of Welsh patchwork, wholecloth, and applique quilts dating from 1800-1945, from Jen Jones’s private collection. Some of the quilts to be included have never been exhibited before. Alongside the main exhibition ‘Paisley Pageant’ in Gallery Twowill display modern quilts by expert hand quilter Sandie Lush. This will explore the versatility of simple Welsh quilting motifs and features 12 brand new hand quilted pieces which aim to show how design can be adapted from the Welsh tradition into more modern quilts. During the year there will also be a rotating series of exhibitions by local Welsh artists in the Centre’s third gallery.
The Welsh Quilt Centre is an exceptional place. In addition to three galleries it includes a gallery shop and a café-deli. The shop sells an eclectic range of textile goodies and gifts. At the Café-Deli all meals are freshly prepared daily using the finest local ingredients.
