This event runs from 3:00pm on the 23rd October 2020, to 3:00pm on the 25th October 2020 and will take place at Highgate House, Creaton, Northants NN6 8NN. It is a Guild event being organised by Region 7, Bookings: Gill Howes: .

Please note that this weekend retreat is still on and is now full (updated 22 April 2020).

We will have 3 tutors with us for the retreat:

Helen Howes:  Adventures in Improvisation/Trees.

Starting with a few basic ideas, you will make your own improvised blocks. Each person's work will be unique, like your own handwriting, and you can explore within and around straight and curved piecing.  Trees - Helen has taught Tree classes for many years - everyone is different and the ideas, invention, and results are never twice the same.

Jan Hassard: Curved Bargello Landscape/ Watersmeet:

Jan's latest bargello quilt is based on a curved and intersected design. She has devised her own technique, no complicated graphs, just guidance in cutting and overlaying to achieve the interwoven pattern. A sample lap quilt or large quilt can be made. The Watersmeet quilt is influenced by the colours of Exmoor but students can use any fabric runs of their own choosing.

Angela Madden: Surprising Silhouettes. Original quilts the new easy way. A brilliant new simple way to create  your own original appliqué quilt designs using silhouettes. These designs can be used in every type of quilt project.
