Patchwork and quilting enthusiast renewing skills learned in the 1970s! I learned traditional patchwork in my youth in America but I'm excited by more modern approaches to add to my repertoire. I've been a maker all my life and now I have the time to expand my skills and finish more challenging projects.
I still love traditional blocks, but have become very enthusiastic about improvised piecing and the modern quilt movement. I'm the proud owner of an HQ Avante long arm machine, but have a lot to learn before I feel fully competent in its use.
I volunteer once a week at Bell House in Dulwich, south east London, teaching patchwork and quilting to students of all levels. It is great fun to share my skills and the students have caught the sewing bug which is wonderful to see.
